The Story
舞台は40年代風イタリアのアパート。夫ピエトロと妻ベネデッタ。
The story of Belladonna starts with a breaking news, reported by a local newspaper.
Benedetta, during a quarrel caused by her husband umpteenth betrayal, wields a rifle and threatens him with death, but, in the end, unable to shoot him, slams the door and walk away.
Her husband, Pietro, left alone at home, asks Titina, the Japanese maid, to give him a massage to help him relax after a so intense afternoon. And while Titina engages in this massage, Pietro tells his love story with Benedetta, from the moment he first saw her until they married.
Benedetta, meanwhile, wanders in the city mulling over what to do, until she decides to call Pietro asking him to pick her up.
Back home, all seems to be over, but Benedetta has actually planned her revenge ... she suddenly goes out, leaving a flyer on the bed. Pietro founds the flyer, showing a mysterious woman in mask posing for a cabaret show. Her name…Rita Lynch. He immediately calls his friend Alfredo, and they decide to go together see the show, which promises to be very spicy.
And suddenly, Rita Lynch, right in the climax of her performance, takes away the mask, revealing Benedetta’s face.
An upset Pietro jumps on stage to cover her and take her away. However, back home, he starts being proud having a wife admired by all and they eventually make up... but when they hug, Benedetta founds that Pietro is hiding in the inner pocket of his jacket a slew of his lovers photos... at that point, blinded by jealousy she takes her rifle ready to fire again.
